Obamacare and The Politicians, They Can Wish In One Hand And Shit In the Other

Just like gun control the politicians who are no longer interested in what the people want are haggling over who gets all that money Obamacare will bring in. The Cities say they want it to keep from going bankrupt, the states want it to help defray the cost of Medicaid and Medicare (our governments first efforts at total control) and of course the feds want the money because they simply love to spend money, lots of money! But while they are haggling, the people are saying screw you. No one will pay the bill, lots of people, I predict in the millions will quit their jobs because it's just stupid to work for no pay. I won't pay it, the IRS better get down my home address because I am not going to pay. Throw me in jail, I'll probably have better health care in prison than on the streets. So they are going to have to come after me. I'm sick of this shit, they will not have more of my money. If they take it, I will quit earning it. I will go on welfare like everyone else. I don't know why they need the money anyway, they are printing trillions out of thin air, why don't they just print what they say I owe them and leave me and my money alone? God knows they can print it faster than I can earn it. I doesn't matter anyway, I will not submit to our governments Affordable Health care Act. that's a joke by its self. Well I've had a pretty good life and Obama is making sure I have nothing to lose, and that's not a good place to put me, with nothing left to lose, I'm not sure what can happen. I'm sure the government won't like the Zombies they are making. who will bake the bread when the little red hen says "Fuck You Bake the Bread Yourself Assholes!? that's what happens when you remove the incentive to work, nobody does anything. then people go hungry, Hey ask the Cubans! "They Pretend to Pay us and we Pretend to work." Imagine the millions who worked for just the health care benefit, their entire reason for working just vanished. Hell the government will give them something and they don't have to pay. We will see how that works out for them when everyone says let someone else do it. And the world sat back and laughed because the once great America was brought to it's knees by a 98 lb scrawny black man from Kenya. destruction of Biblical proportions are being rained down on the USA by this big eared Kenyan.

Conservative Talkers Being Silenced? Or Re-Directed?

Headlines have been blaring all over the digital universe about Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity being tossed off the radio airwaves by Cumulus and losing 40 stations in key markets.
For example, Politico's Dylan Byers reported:
"In a major shakeup for the radio industry, Cumulus Media, the second-biggest broadcaster in the country, is planning to drop both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity from its stations at the end of the year, an industry source told POLITICO on Sunday.
Cumulus has decided that it will not renew its contracts with either host, the source said, a move that would remove the two most highly rated conservative talk personalities from more than 40 Cumulus channels in major markets."
However, in the words of the legendary radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, readers are not being told the rest of the story.
Cumulus and Clear Channel have been buying up stations in major markets. Limbaugh and Hannity are syndicated by Premiere, which is owned by Clear Channel.

Rather than pay fees to Cumulus to carry these shows it makes more sense to put them on their own properties, reduce local talent costs, and save those fees.
The two top-rated talkers aren't going anywhere. They're just changing dial positions and, in many cases, to better signals.
Seeing liberal bloggers declare victory about how a boycott of these shows' sponsors led to this makes my hair stand on end for four reasons.

Seeing liberal bloggers declare victory about how a boycott of these shows' sponsors led to this makes my hair stand on end for four reasons.
First, that's not at all what happened, as these shows will land elsewhere.
Second, and even more importantly, these two broadcasters, with whom I vehemently, vocally, and publicly disagree politically, have done more to keep the talk radio industry alive than anyone else.
It's because of the success of these two shows that many stations have stayed in the talk format in the first place, allowing other shows to be heard. Much as liberals don't have nearly as many outlets as conservatives (According to Talkers Magazine, conservatives own the lion's share of the news/talk market), it would be even worse for the left if these shows weren't making it, because the industry would be closer to collapse at a time when terrestrial radio is struggling.
Third, a boycott hurts the entire business. Advertisers run scared and are encouraged to avoid controversy, and that affects all programming, including progressive hosts.
Fourth, what kind of liberal wants to clamp down on free speech and celebrate shutting someone up?
The best antidote to free speech is -- free speech. As the German theologian Martin Niemoller famously said, "First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist..."
If I, as a liberal, didn't speak out against those who would squelch the free speech of conservatives, I wouldn't deserve to call myself a liberal.
I will continue to speak out against the views of both Limbaugh and Hannity when I feel it's warranted, meeting their free speech with my own. But I will never forget that, without them, I'd have a much smaller platform on which to do it.

The Heart Of Dixie

Waiting For Robert E Lee!

Winston Churchill once said, “The most beautiful voice in the world is that of an educated Southern woman.”
The Sons of Confederate Veterans, hosted their 118th National Reunion during the month of July, 2013 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Christine Barr, an award-winning professor of English and resident of Katy, Texas, wrote a beautiful article about the SCV Convention and Southern Heritage.

Do you remember the movie and the actor who said, “I give you our homeland, glorious in defeat, gallant in victory and brave in her hour of grief…Gentlemen, I give you the South and confusion to all her enemies?” See the answer at end of article.
You ain’t just whistling Dixie; I’m American by birth and Southern by the grace of God and….
Do you remember when men and women of African, Asian, European, Hispanic, Jewish, Oriental and American-Indian ancestry were proud to be Americans? In the peach state, we are Georgia Crackers, love catfish and hush puppies, miss Lewis Grizzard and stand up when the band plays the National Anthem or Dixie. We once even had a baseball team called the “Atlanta Crackers” but still love RC Cola and moon pies, fly Delta and read “Uncle Remus” stories to our children.

A young Southern lady recently told me that songs like “Dixie” and “Waiting for the Robert E. Lee” offended some people and probably why they should not be played.
The question today might be, are we still the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave or have we become the land of the offended and home of always complaining people?
It seems like some folks are offended by anything they don’t understand, while others aren’t offended but are afraid to speak up in fear of being called racist…But, then there are many brave folks who proudly stand up for what they believe is right.
During my childhood of the ‘50s, songs like “Swanee River”, “Mammy” and “Waiting for the Robert E. Lee”, all best sung by the late great Al Jolson, were very popular in the South and throughout the USA. At my elementary school we sang songs that included a Southern—War Between the States song “Goober Peas.” There are probably some who have a problem with this song about Confederate soldiers sitting of the road side and eating goober peas—peanuts…But, even Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce, played by Alan Alda, on the ‘70s hit TV showMash” sang this song in one of those many memorable episodes.
Do you remember the grand finale in the 1941 movie “Babes on Broadway” starring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland? The song performed was “Waiting for the Robert E. Lee” written by Louis Wolfe Gilbert and Lewis Muir that include these words:
“Way down on the levy in old Alabamy, there’s Daddy and Mammy, there’s Ephraim and Sammy. On a moonlight night you can find them while they are waiting, the banjos are syncopating what’s that they’re saying. What’s that they’re saying? While they keep playing a-humming and swaying it’s the good ship Robert E. Lee.”
As a child my Mother woke my sister and me on school days with such wonderful songs such as: “zippy de doo dah” from the 1946 Disney movie “Song of the South.”
The answer to the question at beginning of this article is the great Lionel Barrymore in the classic 1935 Fox movie “The Little Colonel” also starring the delightful Shirley Temple.
You all come back now, you here!

Waiting for the Robert E. Lee

US Military Becomes the Muslim Brotherhood's Hit Man

Libia, Syria, Now Egypt All Muslim Brotherhood with US military support. Is anyone seeing a trend here?

Muslim Brotherhood demands the U.S and NATO to invade Egypt and destroy its army

Cairo, Egypt-In the weirdest statement yet announced by a person belonging to any country in the world,  a Muslim Brotherhood leader called Mohammed El-Beltagy, asked the United States, the European Union and NATO to send their armies to Egypt to fight against the Egyptian army and destroy it, under the pretext that the army wants to destroy the Muslim Brotherhood and scatter them.
The statement was made after the rally of about 40 million Egyptians, who went out on to the streets in the biggest show of support the world had ever known. The people voted with their bodies and feet, in order to support Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for National Security Abdel Fattah Saeed al-Sisi.
This abnormal statement from one of the leaders of the Brotherhood,  considered as an official spokesman indicates many things, including that the Brotherhood does not care about anything but power, position and the presidency, even if the price to get them is the destruction of their country and the elimination of its army, which is the most powerful army in the Middle East and the tenth most powerful army in the world.  The Muslim Brotherhood does not care if thousands of Egyptians die in order to achieve and maintain power and implementation of the agenda of global caliphate, which is their biggest dream.

The statement is also consistent with a number of other statements and previous threats issued by the leaders of the Brotherhood, who claim that Egypt will become like Syria if Egyptians do not accept the return of Mohamed Morsi, the former President. The Brotherhood is stockpiling weapons smuggled in large quantities from Libya and the Gaza Strip. Increasing numbers of armed militias of the Brotherhood’s supporters are showing up in the Sinai Peninsula.
Bravado notwithstanding, the Muslim Brotherhood must have felt a sense of dread since July 26th, when they saw huge protests fill the streets all over Egypt.
This dread felt by the Brotherhood also indicates that they know they are the biggest threat to Egyptian national security and civil peace. The Brotherhood also knows it has lost many of its supporters especially after the violence carried out by them, and with the spread of information and videos that show that the brotherhood is killing its own members and supporters in order to falsely portray to the world that the army and police are carrying out the killings, so that they can then ask for intervention of foreign powers and the United Nations.
The Muslim Brotherhood uses the media in the promotion of their lies, funded by millions of dollars and led by Al-Jazeera—the first supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood in the region, under the auspices of the Emir of Qatar and the god father of the Muslim Brotherhood Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Egyptian Qatari nationality and partner in Taqwa Bank located in the Bahamas, which is funding a large number of terrorist organizations around the world, including al-Qaeda and Hamas, the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood stole two big broadcasting cars belonging to the government and used them for round-the-clock live broadcasts at the demonstration in Rabaa- Adawiya square.
The Brotherhood is also trying to reach a deal to release former President Morsi and come out unscathed after ensuring for themselves the largest possible gains, whether political or financial.
Experts say that their demands and objectives are impossible to achieve, even if the Egyptian authorities accept negotiating with them because the Egyptian people will not accept such deals to give amnesty to leaders of the Brotherhood.
Experts believe that the group now has no choice but to continue with the violent protests, which is also not acceptable to authorities nor to the Egyptian people.  The violence and killing are affecting the economy and causing the loss of investments and tourism, stopping production and restricting travel.
The Brotherhood is now resorting to international intervention to try to mediate between the Brotherhood and the Egyptian authorities, calling on the Commissioner of EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, who came to Egypt for a two-day visit.
Sources say that she asked to meet with deposed President Morsi in his cell to ensure his physical safety.  The move toward international intervention coincides with the recent statements of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, along with some threats issued by U.S. Congress to cut off military aid to Egypt. The response of average Egyptians was laced with sarcasm, ridicule and strong criticism of the current U.S. administration they define as the Muslim Brotherhood of America.
Mainstreet Egyptians know that Americans need Egypt more than Egypt needs America.
They are saying that if America wants to stop military aid, stop it now, not tomorrow because it is well known that America is the biggest winner in its relationship with Egypt, the largest country in the Middle East and the first guarantor to the security of Israel.

Detroit Eyes Obamacare to Cut Costs

Via New York Times

As Detroit enters the federal bankruptcy process, the city is proposing a controversial plan for paring some of the $5.7 billion it owes in retiree health costs: pushing many of those too young to qualify for Medicare out of city-run coverage and into the new insurance markets that will soon be operating under the Obama health care law.

“There’s fear and panic,” said Michael Underwood, an ailing Chicago Police Department retiree.

Officials say the plan would be part of a broader effort to save Detroit tens of millions of dollars in health costs each year, a major element in a restructuring package that must be approved by a bankruptcy judge. It is being watched closely by municipal leaders around the nation, many of whom complain of mounting, unsustainable prices for the health care promised to retired city workers.
Similar proposals that could shift public sector retirees into the new insurance markets, called exchanges, are already being planned or contemplated in places like Chicago; Sheboygan County, Wis.; and Stockton, Calif. While large employers that eliminate health benefits for full-time workers can be penalized under the health care law, retirees are a different matter.
“There’s fear and panic about what this means,” said Michael Underwood, 62, who retired from the Chicago Police Department after 30 years and has diabetes and Parkinson’s disease. Mr. Underwood, who says he began working for the city when employees did not pay into future Medicare coverage, is part of a group suing Chicago over its plan to phase many retirees out of city coverage during the next three and a half years. “I was promised health care for myself and my wife for life,” he said.
Unfunded retiree health care costs loom larger than ever for localities across the country, and the health law’s guarantee of federal subsidies to help people with modest incomes afford coverage has made the new insurance markets tantalizing for local governments. A study issued this year by the Pew Charitable Trusts found 61 of the nation’s major cities wrestling with $126 billion in retiree health costs, all but 6 percent of that unfunded.
“The Affordable Care Act does change the possibilities here dramatically,” said Neil Bomberg, a program director at the National League of Cities. “It offers a very high-quality, potentially very affordable way to get people into health care without the burden falling back onto the city and town.”
But if large numbers of localities follow that course, it could amount to a significant cost shift to the federal government. Authors of the health care law expected at least some shifting of retirees into the new insurance exchanges, said Timothy S. Jost, a law professor at Washington and Lee University who closely follows the law. “But if a lot of them do, especially big state and local programs,” he said, “that’s going to be a huge cost for the United States government, and it’s mandatory spending.”
Many cities are also wrestling with unfunded pension programs for retirees. But health care has become an easier target for cuts, in part because of generally stronger legal protections for pensions. Still, changes to retiree health care are playing out in courtrooms. The suit Mr. Underwood joined, filed last week in Chicago, claims that the health care benefits were also protected.
The Chicago plan, announced in May, would phase some of the city’s 11,800 retirees and their family members not eligible for Medicare out of city coverage by 2017. While some may seek insurance through new employers or through their spouses’ workplaces, others will probably be shifted to the insurance exchanges. Much of the plan for the next few years is in flux, but the changes are expected to contribute to a larger effort to save Chicago $155 million to $175 million a year in retiree health care costs by 2017.
“With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, our retirees will have more options to meet their health care needs,” said Sarah Hamilton, a spokeswoman for Mayor Rahm Emanuel, adding that most of the city’s retirees over 65 were already covered by Medicare. “We will ensure that they have all the information needed to navigate the options available going forward, while saving vital taxpayer dollars.”
Under the health care law, starting in October every state will have an online insurance market where people can shop for private plans. These policies will have to include 10 broad categories of benefits, including emergency services, hospitalization and prescription drugs.
People earning up to 400 percent of the poverty level can get federal subsidies to help with the cost of premiums, but only for policies bought through the new markets. The premiums will vary, depending on how much coverage a plan offers.
This year, 400 percent of the poverty level is $45,960 for an individual and $62,040 for two-person households.
Cities may also provide moderate monthly stipends to help retirees with the cost of health insurance bought through an exchange. Detroit, for instance, has proposed doing that.
But retirees say they worry about what the costs would actually amount to and whether the coverage would be as generous as some have received through city plans.

Brand Dixie, Make it Happen!

It's so disappointing to watch Rand Paul who built his political position on the back of Dixie, turn on the very people that got him where he is. I for one don't care what the political establishment thinks because they are all assholes. How many times have I heard the words "the south lost the war so shut the f**k up" just like that. What's more disappointing to me is the South continues to wallow in the pitiful sauce of the loss. The South needs to:
 A. Find their real friends
B. Consolidate their political position
C. Extricate those who disagree
D. Rebuild their Economic Engine
E. Cut off economic ties with the dying North
F. Rebuild the Dixie Brand!
I know that sounds hard but if the South will ever return to its former greatness, a deep incision must be placed between those who love her to those who would keep their Jackboot pressed firmly on her Jugular!
The current economic position that the fascist Obama has put the North in makes them very vulnerable to economic isolation. The South needs to pull together and boycott anyone who would damage the name of Dixie.
Believe me, if the people of the South quit buying Yankee products, reopened the clothing mills, continued to lure strong business interests to the South. No One in Dixie would ever be labeled as second class again.
God would bless the South and she would rise again to beyond her former glory.
It takes guts, we need leaders, find them and boldly step into the path of freedom!
I'm not talking about a hot war, I'm talking about economic centralization. It's time for Dixie to put her money where her heart is. We need the same honor and loyalty to Dixie as we saw in the old days, when people donated their money, their property, and yes their children to the fight against the oppressive North. Only this time we will use our collective economic might. The South has no trouble collecting business from the North, the costs are less and the people industrious. But every man, woman and child must know the "Made In Dixie" Brand and buy from the people who would protect that Brand. In the end, WalMart has to go.
It's time, the time has come. Obama has swung the door wide open, all we have to do is walk through.
What to do first!
A. Find the business's who are willing to put the "Made In Dixie" Brand on their products
B. Make is socially unacceptable to use any product without that label.
C. Business's benefiting from the economic resurgence agrees to re-invest in Dixie
D. Choose Leaders who will donate time to help organize and expedite the Dixie Brand
E. Elect Politicians who will put Dixie first on their Sacred Honor!
Finally, you all know what to do, remember the South! remember your Honor, remember your love of freedom! We can do this! What we couldn't do when the North attacked the South, we can now do economically! Deprived the North of Southern gold! Boycott Northern and Off Shore Products!
You will be surprised how fast this can happen.
To those who would tell us we are racist and wrong, gracefully invite them to get their heart in Dixie or get their ASS out.
Go to Free North Carolina, there is a tab on the right, to continue this discussion.
Let's choose our leaders and get a plan in place. The time is now!
Fly Dixie With Pride!

Obama, Enemy of the American Constitution

Protesters hold placards calling for the release of Pfc. Bradley Manning outside Ft. McNair in Washington, D.C., July 26, 2013.
Protesters hold placards calling for the release of Pfc. Bradley Manning outside Ft. McNair in Washington, D.C., July 26, 2013.
During a Friday conference call with reporters WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg sketched an apocalyptic vision of journalism's future if Pfc. Bradley Manning is convicted of aiding the enemy.

Aiding the enemy is the most serious charge the Army intelligence analyst faces for allegedly providing an enormous stash of classified documents to WikiLeaks. Prosecutors contend that by handing the documents over for publication, Manning informed the nation's enemies of sensitive information.
The charge is punishable by execution, but the government is not seeking death in Manning's case.
Manning's conviction on that charge would "embroil future journalistic sources in possible death penalty cases for speaking with the media," Assange said. He alleged the charge is part of "the Obama administration's new attempt to define journalism about national security as conspiracy to commit espionage."
[READ: Defense Paints Bradley Manning as Misguided]
Assange dialed into the press conference from Ecuador's London embassy, his refuge for the past year as he avoids extradition to Sweden for questioning about alleged sex crimes. Ecuador granted asylum to Assange, but he has been unable to leave the diplomatic post to travel there.
Manning's conviction would "forever change the ability of journalists to reveal the most important crimes of the state," Assange said. "It is an attempt to redefine how journalism is done."
Assange credits Manning's alleged leak with ending the American military's presence in Iraq – by exposing an additional 20,000 deaths, leading to the non-renewal of the U.S.-Iraq status of forces agreement – and initiating the Arab Spring protests that toppled autocratic leaders in North Africa and the Middle East.
Army Pfc. Bradley Manning is escorted from court on July 25, 2013 in Fort Meade, Maryland on July 25, 2013. The trial of Manning, accused of 'aiding the enemy' by giving secret documents to WikiLeaks, is entering its final stage Thursday as both sides present closing arguments. (MANDEL NGAN/AFP/Getty Images)
"Every single day in the press articles are published that derive from either the diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks or from the Iraq and Afghanistan war logs," he said.
There is "no allegation by the United States government that even a single person has come to harm" as result of the massive leaks, Assange said.
Assange says President Barack Obama is deliberately seeking to expand the use of the Espionage Act to cover journalists reporting on leaked material.
"There's a harmonization of approach to get up this new legal theory regarding the Espionage Act," he said, referencing the involvement of Fox News reporter James Rosen and New York Times reporter James Risen in criminal leak probes as part of "an extremely worrying path the Obama administration has gone down."
[RELATED: NSA Whistle-Blowers Defend Snowden's Decision to Flee]
The Australian-born secret-spiller predicted the U.S. Supreme Court may ultimately invalidate parts of the Espionage Act.
Using the Espionage Act, Obama is "effectively rewriting the Constitution," Assange said. The First Amendment, he noted, has "no exception for an embarrassed military or an embarrassed White House. What part of 'no' does President Barack Obama not understand?"
Barry Pollack, Assange's attorney, said the attention Manning's prosecutors accorded to WikiLeaks "reinforces to us" that Assange "is in severe legal jeopardy in the United States." He sought, and received, asylum from Ecuador because he fears being transported to the U.S. for trial.

States Push Back Federal Incursion Where It Doesn't Belong

Infuriated by what they see as the long arm of Washington reaching into their business, states are increasingly telling the feds: Keep out!
Bills that would negate a variety of federal laws have popped up this year in the vast majority of states - with the amount of anti-federal legislation sharply on the rise during the Obama administration, according to experts.

The “nullification” trend in recent years has largely focused on three areas: gun control; health care; and national standards for driver’s licenses. It’s touched off fierce fights within the states, and between the states and the feds, as well as raising questions and court battles about whether any of it is legal.
(Also on POLITICO: President Obama vs. Texas)
In at least 37 states legislation has been introduced that in some way guts federal gun regulations, according to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. The bills were signed into law this spring in two states, Kansas and Alaska, and in two more lawmakers hope to override a governor’s veto. Twenty states since 2010 have passed laws that either opt out of or challenge mandatory parts of Obamacare, the National Conference of State Legislatures says. And half the states have OK’d measures aimed knocking back the Real ID Act of 2005, which dictates Washington’s requirements for issuing driver’s licenses.
“Rosa Parks is the beacon of light: If you say no to something, you can change the world,” Michael Boldin, the Founder of the Tenth Amendment Center, which favors states’ rights, told POLITICO.
“Isn’t that what it’s supposed to be, ‘We, the people?’” he added. “Over the past few years you’ve seen this growing…People are getting sick and tired of federal power.”
(Read more: POLITICO's coverage of gun control)
In fact, the state-level anger at the nation’s capital has reached such a fever pitch that many of the bills do not even address specific federal laws, but rather amount to what is in effect “preemptive” nullification, wiping out, for instance, any federal law that may exist in the future that the states determine violates gun rights. The flurry of such efforts was spurred by fear on the part of states that in the wake of the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., that Congress would pass restrictive gun control legislation.
Supporters of nullification say it’s the best tool they have to try to beat back an intrusive federal government that they say is more and more trampling on the rights of states.
But critics respond that the flood of legislation to override the feds is folly that won’t stand up in court and amounts to a transparent display of the political and personal distaste for President Barack Obama. And in some cases, the moves in the states has provoked an administration counter-offensive: Attorney General Eric Holder sent a letter to Kansas after it passed the “Second Amendment Protection Act” threatening legal action if necessary to enforce federal laws.
(PHOTOS: What’s in Obama’s 2014 budget)
Even some conservatives - certainly no lovers of the Obama administration - warn that the states are going down the wrong path with nullification, distracted by a what lawmakers think is a silver-bullet solution, but that likely won’t stand up in the courts, when in fact there are much better (and legal) ways for the states to resist.
While most states have wrapped their legislative sessions for the year, the fight on these bills is taking only a brief pause. In Missouri, for example, lawmakers are preparing for a veto session in September, where supporters of a gun measure that would eviscerate any future congressional attempts to regulate gun ownership are planning to attempt to override the governor’s veto. The nullification battle has also spilled over into the courts, with more challenges and rulings expected during the year.
In Kansas, state Rep. John Rubin sponsored successful legislation that dictates that federal gun laws do not apply to firearms and accessories made in Kansas and that never leave its borders, and makes it a felony for any federal agent to enforce those laws within the state.
(Also on POLITICO: CVS will help promote Obamacare)
The Republican lawmaker told POLITICO his bill is about states’ rights - not gun rights.
“The federal government doesn’t have the authority to do a lot of what it’s trying to do these days, from regulating guns within state borders, as my bill deals with, or telling us what kinds of light bulbs to put in our lamps,” Rubin said.
He noted a rise in the number nullification bills.
“I think we have the Obama administration to thank for that.” Rubin said. “The more federal overreach in Obamacare and elsewhere, the more [the administration] chooses to act in ways we believe are unconstitutional, the more we’re going to push back. I would encourage any state to assert to the strongest possible extent against the Obama administration, or any federal administration, rights clearly reserved to the states.”

What's Wrong With America? Even Germany Knows That Our Government Has Gone Too Far

German Protests Against U.S. Spying Draw Thousands

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-07-27/german-protests-against-u-s-spying-draw-thousands.html
Thousands of protesters in cities across Germany took part in demonstrations against spying by the U.S. and other countries.
An organization called Stop Watching Us, which describes itself as a “conglomeration of concerned citizens,” had called for protests in more than 30 cities across the country, according to its website. Florian Waechter, who organized the demonstrations, said in a telephone interview that his group doesn’t yet know how many people participated.
In Frankfurt, protesters braved 36 degree-celsius (97 Fahrenheit) heat with banners that compared surveillance to a vision of novelist George Orwell and the secret police of former communist East Germany. As many as 1,000 people attended the demonstration in the country’s financial capital, broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk reported on its website, citing the police.
More than 700 people demonstrated in Cologne, Koelner Stadt Anzeiger reported on its website. About 500 people joined a rally in Berlin, Berliner Zeitung said on its website.
Germany’s opposition Social Democrats stepped up attacks on Chancellor Angela Merkel’s response to the U.S. surveillance scandal this month to help turn around their electoral fortunes before the country goes to the polls in September. Merkel’s chief of staff was called before parliament this week to answer questions about what the government knew about U.S. spying.
Joerg-Uwe Hahn, a lawmaker with Merkel’s Free Democratic Party allies and Tarek Al-Wazir from the opposition Green Party spoke at the rally in Frankfurt.
The protests aren’t affiliated with individual parties, Waechter said.

The Germans Have to Protest for us because we are too stupid to figure it out for ourselves, they know that the German Government may get wicked ideas hanging around with Obama.

Washington DC's New All Seeing Eye, It's Not Just On the Dollar Bill Anymore

A radar and weapons detection system largely designed for naval fleets is coming to the Washington D.C. area.
The Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor System, nicknamed JLENS for people with things to do, is a blimp that is tethered to a cord and floated above a vulnerable area.
Sensors attached to the blimp are able to detect anything from cruise missiles and rockets to approaching tanks from hundreds of miles away.
The Army, in conjunction with U.S. Northern Command, will be conducting tests with the JLENS at Aberdeen Proving ground in Maryland. They are reportedly experimenting with affordable domestic missile shield technology.
JLENS can reach an altitude of 10,000 feet and stay aloft for 30 days at a stretch, and its 360 degree sensor package can scan the air, land, and sea for up to 340 miles, according to DefenseNews.
The system is produced by Raytheon.

Anybody got a Slingshot?
I guess we shouldn't have given al qaeda all those missles to use in Syria, didn't anyone put a disclaimer on them saying they were to be only used in Syria?
this is a test ..... right?
by the way, a hearty hello to all my friends at the NSA!

Fair Warning From Poland

http://sofrep.com/23714/dear-friends-in-america/

Dear Friends in America…

…I think I should bring your attention to a few recent facts that naturally escape the limelight of glory in the mainstream media. Facts of obviously lesser importance than The New Royal Baby, Zimmerman’s trial and Justin Bieber’s new hairdo, or are they really…
The events that we have all seen in the past months have drawn my inquisitive nose over the great pond and into your part of the globe. And I must say, what I see happening is giving me the creeps.
I do see a significant discrepancy between what you people take for granted yet allow to be step by step taken away from you, and what life is really like here in Europe and the rest of the world. It amazes me how easily people in your country let go of the strings of liberty still in your grasp for a promise of the illusive security and prosperity. Well, sorry ladies and gentlemen, security is only as impenetrable as you make it for yourself, and prosperity only as lucrative as you make it grow with hard work. And it is the same everywhere in the world. The only difference is the amount of difficulties imposed by third parties that make achieving security and prosperity tougher.
As for now, you are all pretty much well off compared to some other parts of this planet. Most of you probably never experienced the strife of living under an oppressive dictatorship or an extremist regime, and the rest probably do not even give a damn about this topic whatsoever. Ignorance is the key to any man’s demise and, sorry to say this, most of you have reached master level in ignorance and I-do-not-give-a-damnism. If it concerns other nations, sure, why should anyone be bothered by problems halfway across the globe! However, if those same problems start to arise in your back garden and you still remain ignorant as if nothing was happening, well in that case, you might as well dig your own grave and just lay down inside the hole because you are on a direct route to ending up there in the near future anyway.
Since it is a hot topic in the recent past, and will probably still be on the agenda for the next few months as well, we might start with firearms. I am a gun-owner, a licensed firearms instructor and an active sport shooter. I advocate for promoting safe use of firearms by responsible citizens I support pro-gun movements focused on familiarising the public with firearms to bust any media-made-up gun myths and so on. Sounds familiar? Good, but unfortunately this is where similarities between you and I end.
I did not get my guns with filling in a background check form, nor did I get any ammo from my local Walmart. Each and every gun that I own and piece of ammunition I have is sanctioned by a full licensing and registration process. The gun law says who can and who can not possess a firearm. By default, no one is allowed to have one unless they provide a legitimate reason to have a gun, pass a police exam, undergo full screening and a psychological health examination. In the end, if the guns are to be used for self-defence the Police Chief has the final say with every license given for self-defence, and the usual answer is a dismissal of the application.
You better not even try using a gun that you have on a sporting permit for self-defence, since that is an outright charge for attempted murder, regardless of the situation and the motives of the person you used the gun against. Did I mention that the Police have the right to revoke my firearms license at any time without prior notice (if, for example, they decide that the reason for giving me a license is no longer valid) and confiscate all guns if they see it necessary? Naturally, as a law-abiding citizen I have the right to appeal in court, but that is only after all my guns and ammo are taken away from me.
Unfortunately, I see that most of you are not active enough when your ruling class is trying to force upon you the same chains as there are already in place on me and countless millions of good people in Europe and the rest of the world. Some countries have it even tougher. UK: outright ban on pistols and most kinds of rifles, guns owned by you have to be stored at your shooting club or the police station, and you can only take them out to the range, full auto air-soft BB guns with muzzle velocity over 350 fps are considered firearms and can land you in jail for a minimum of 5 years. Germany: guns mostly allowed for hunting and to some extent sporting, no human silhouette targets allowed, mounting a flashlight or a laser on a gun is considered a serious felony, airsoft BB guns can only be semi auto and have to be carried around in hard cases WITH PADLOCKS. Russia (where everyone supposedly drives around with an AK in the back seat): outright ban on possession of pistols by individuals, only guns available for self-defence are pistols refitted to only accept rubber bullet cartridges, rifles are only available for hunting with an exception that after obtaining your hunters license you can only own smooth bore shotguns for the first 5 years. China: no firearms for individual civilians, period.
You think it is not that bad over there where you live? Well what are you doing to make it stay that way? You people have a unique gift that was bestowed upon you by your founding fathers. Once you broke the chains of his majesty’s divine right to rule you, the guys that came after did not serve you the very same cake under a different name. They recognised YOUR divine right of freedom. Recently it is becoming more and more obvious that you have to be reminded that what you still have as a commonly accessible RIGHT, somewhere else it is a PRIVILEGE available to but a select few.
Moving on to “Crossing the Rubicon.” In ancient Rome there was a law that no standing Army will ever reside permanently within the borders of Rome heartland, and with the river Rubicon being a natural barrier on the road to inner-Italia, the crossing by any army, both foreign or domestic, meant a serious danger to the security of the republic. Julius Caesar crossed it to become a dictator and so on. If you want the whole story you should have paid better attention in history class, oh wait… they do not teach you about such inferior things in schools these days. Still, there is Discovery Channel. Look it up.
Any standing army has leaders, whether or not they are military themselves. An army has to oblige to the orders given by its superiors following the normal chain of command, regardless if the orders can be contrary to actual soldier’s morality or beliefs. An army has the most significant ability to enforce an agenda with the use of physical force at its disposal. Therefore, the presence of an army can lead to dissolution of individual and common freedoms should the army commanders (military or government) decide on that to happen. That is why in order to prevent a coup d’état (forcible seizure of power, government overthrow) and secure civilian liberties and a government “by the people and for the people,” it is paramount to keep a significant armed force out of the reach of a select few for use in domestic affairs. Policing is the job of law enforcement and not the army.
As one of the repercussions of 9/11, the US Department of Homeland Security was formed on the grounds of providing a higher level of law enforcement security, focused against possible terrorist threats. Since its forming in 2002 and especially in the past months, I observe that the DHS has grown into something far more than just another shadowy law enforcement agency. Armoured Personnel Carriers are not tools for combating crime, unless you are fighting drug cartels in Mexico, but that struggle is in essence an outright war. This agency is becoming more and more like an Interior Army and thus a force that could be easily used for power seizure should there happen to be people willing to give the order.
Russia has a separate armed forces branch subject not to the MOD (Ministry of Defence), but to the Interior Ministry, alongside law enforcement like police, and it is literally called the Internal Army. The tasks are as follows: combating internal threats to the state, quelling civil disorder, counter-terrorism operations, aiding the Ministry of Emergency Situations during natural disasters. Despite the fact that these guys are doing a mighty good job at limiting the spread of Islamic extremism from the Caucasus, they are in fact the backbone of every Russian government, and it’s the ultimate way to ensure everyone succumbs to the government’s bidding. It is kind of hard to have a successful opposition to a government backed by troops with tanks and helicopter gunships if they say NO to your demands for civil rights and liberties, unless you want to start a civil war, that is.
Another example comes from good old Poland. A few weeks ago I learned that a new law has been passed and is now in effect: to allow the armed forces to be used to tackle civil disorder without the need of declaring a state of emergency or martial law. This is a gigantic change in Rules of Engagement for the armed forces, yet no one here seems to have noticed this milestone.
What is more shocking, the government that erected this law is a direct descendant of the Solidarity movement of 1980’s that lost countless lives while the armed forces were used to tackle strikes by the anticommunist opposition, and was the number one organization on this side of the Iron Curtain that begun the struggle for liberty which ended with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact.
The army is to be used in a support role for the police but will be granted same enforcement powers. Rules of using “means of direct enforcement” state clearly that firearms cannot be used against pregnant women, kids obviously under the age of 13 and disabled people, with a cunning exception in which such a person, woman or child would pose a severe threat to the life of someone else or the soldier (subject to the soldier’s or his commander’s own interpretation of severity).
Ever since the collapse of the communist system, the army was prohibited from engaging in internal security affairs, other than tackling the effects of natural disasters, to make it impossible to use it and its fighting potential against out-gunned civilians. For example, that is why elite Special Forces Units like JW GROM could not have been used to handle  a hostage situation within the borders of the Republic of Poland. This is now history and with some obvious benefits, this poses a gigantic threat to the balance between the true civilian government and fulfilling dictatorial pursuits by extremists of whichever political wing or creed.
I can see that currently the U.S. Government steadily but surely develops the DHS into an Internal Army time and again probing the population’s reactions to the implementation of what is martial law in effect – as we saw in New Orleans during Katrina and recently in Boston. Sadly, not many people have stood up to the challenge to confront these unlawful activities, and some say America has failed a test as a free nation with what happened in Boston after the bombings. I believe this test was failed even earlier, because at this point it is quite hard to blame unarmed civilians for succumbing to scores of armed to the teeth, in reality soldiers, forcing their way into homes without the proper legal authority or just cause.
In closing, I would like to recapture on these issues and only emphasize the need for you people to get active. You might read this short letter (that eventually got out of hand and grew into a full article) and think: “Well, I know this and these issues are nothing new to me, I’m an active member of the NRA and attend all pro-gun events.” This is great, but how many of your friends and their friends also share your wisdom?
You would be surprised just how small the group of people that are really actively involved in fighting for liberty is. Not only for your country, but for the sake of us all. Because what happens in America soon translates accordingly to the rest of the world, and we’re already pretty much under the boot as things stand now. Are the recently sprouting scandals and instances of ill-application of law enforcement indicators that your country has gone past the point of no return, like it happened in the UK after the Dunblane Massacre when the government said “Turn in your guns for the sake of security,” and all the sheep blindly cheered the idea because it was “for the children”? I leave this for you to decide.
I tell you this however. Stay safe and stand fast!
Your mate from Poland,
Sergei

Greensboro, N.C.

(Editor’s note: Colin Flaherty has done more reporting than any other journalist on what appears to be a nationwide trend of skyrocketing black-on-white crime, violence and abuse. WND features these reports to counterbalance the virtual blackout by the rest of the media due to their concerns that reporting such incidents would be inflammatory or even racist. WND considers it racist not to report racial abuse solely because of the skin color of the perpetrators or victims.) Videos linked or embedded may contain foul language and violence.
I get a lot of tips on black mob violence from WND readers around the country. Some I know about. Some I do not. Some are true. Some are not.

Many are from cops. Lots and lots of cops. Here’s a message this morning from a Texas cop, a 20-year veteran and a regular correspondent on the topic of black mob violence:
“This is incredible, the rate at which things are escalating. On the streets, out here, the attitude is one of entitlement which i haven’t seen.”
I get that from cops all over the country. Even Greensboro, N.C.
This morning, my email and twitter streams were full of information about Greensboro. The conversations kind of went like this:
“Did you hear about the black mob violence in Greensboro?” asked one reader.
“You mean the Fourth of July where hundreds of black people filled the downtown both before and after the fireworks? Fighting. Destroying property. Defying police. Violating curfew? Where it got so bad they had to use pepper spray?”
“No, not that one.”
“Oh you mean the run up to the Fourth of July?” I asked. “When in the weeks prior to fireworks they had several incidents including one where 400 black people were in the streets fighting. On video. Destroying property. Defying police. Where it got so bad they had to use pepper spray and stun guns?”
“No, not that one either.”
Those were so bad the city council met in an emergency meeting the day before the Fourth of July to impose a curfew in the downtown. Maybe the WND readers were referring to last year.
“Are you talking about the Fourth of July last year?” I asked. “Where 1,000 black people filled the downtown after the fireworks. Fighting. Destroying property. Assaulting people. Defying police. Where it got so bad they had to use pepper spray and stun guns?”
“No, not that either.”
I still had a lot of material to work with. Much of it from “White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence and how the media ignore it.” (New and improved edition soon out on WND Books.)
I use Greensboro as an example of a small, nice place with lots of black mob violence that few people know about. I pressed on:
“You mean before that, where a local TV station reported that “every weekend” in June leading up the Fourth of July last year featured large-scale black mob violence downtown? Fighting. Destroying property. Assaulting people. Defying police. Where it got so bad they had to use pepper spray and stun guns?”
“No. Not those either.”
I wasn’t going to ask about the Greensboro concerts, parties and other public events that also feature large scale black mob violence. So much so that city council considered banning them.
But the city council did not. Even the 11 p.m. curfew the city council imposed in a near panic for this year’s Fourth of July almost did not make it. At least one city council member said the curfew was not fair because it targeted black people.
That council member ended up supporting the curfew. But no one knows what would have happened had she decided to make a bigger deal out of it. But she assured them she would not be playing “the race card.”
Only one speaker belled the cat and identified the rioters as “black kids.” The other council members said the large scale violence was not really the fault of the people involved anyway. They placed the blame variously on jobs, housing, poverty, lack of recreation, lousy parents. All the usual.
They did have a midnight basketball program, several council members said. And that seemed to be working just fine. But their idea to hold a free movie downtown, and invite all the disaffected youths, as they did a month ago?
Let’s just say they won’t be doing that again.
Finally I Googled it and looked it up on Twitter: “Large fight Greensboro.”
There it was. Thursday night. More than 200 black people at a party. Fighting. Destroying property. Firing guns. Assaulting people. Fighting cops.
All about half a mile outside of the downtown curfew zone. Six people were arrested.
Some in Greensboro took to the message boards to register their disgust with the lawlessness and anarchy that flourishes in their town on a regular basis.
“Keep up and Greensboro will be just another Detroit,” said one poster called OneLonesomeDove at the WXII TV news site.
“Was this black mob violence?” asked another. “If it was, you need to say so, and not be afraid of the repercussions.”
It was, said several people both in an out of the Greensboro police department. Whatever the repercussions may be of talking about black mob violence , Greensboro is seeing what happens when people do not talk about it.
None of the comments was posted at the local daily paper, the News & Record.
“Comments have been disabled,” is all the paper had to say about that.

Weedkillers tied to depression in farmers

By Kerry Grens
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Farmers who used weedkillers were more than twice as likely to be treated for depression than farmers who didn't use the chemicals in a new study from France.
Whether the weedkillers are causing depression "is not clear," said Marc Weisskopf, the study's lead author and an associate professor at the Harvard School of Public Health. "But (the result) suggests we should not be ignoring herbicides just because they're targeting plants."
Earlier research on depression and pesticides has focused on insecticides, particularly organophosphates, which are known to be toxic to nerve cells, said Weisskopf.
Monocrotophos, the insecticide that killed 23 school children in India this month, is an organophosphate, for example.
The use of pesticides has also been linked to Parkinson's disease among farmers (see Reuters Health story of May 28, 2013 here:).
As part of a study on Parkinson's disease, Weisskopf and his colleagues assessed the risks for depression with exposure to any kind of pesticide by surveying 567 French farmers about their use of fungicides, insecticides and herbicides.
The team conducted home visits to get a detailed assessment of chemical exposures, including going over bills for pesticide purchases, looking through farming calendars and inspecting old pesticide containers.
They also asked the farmers whether they had ever been treated for depression.
Weisskopf's group reports in the American Journal of Epidemiology that 83 farmers, about 15 percent, said they had been treated for depression. Forty-seven of them had never used pesticides, while 36 had.
Among the farmers without Parkinson's disease, 37 who had never used herbicides and 20 who had used the weedkillers reported being treated for depression.
There was no difference in the risk of having depression among the farmers who had used fungicides or insecticides, compared to those who hadn't used any pesticide.
But when the researchers took into account factors linked with depression, such as age and cigarette smoking, they determined that those farmers exposed to weedkillers were nearly two and a half times as likely to have had depression.
Furthermore, farmers who had greater exposure - either more hours or longer years using herbicides - also had a greater chance of having depression than farmers who had used weedkillers less.
That kind of dose-response relationship is usually thought to support a connection - in this case, between the chemicals and depression. But this type of study cannot prove cause and effect.
One possibility that wasn't ruled out is that the exposed farmers might have had other health conditions that affected their ability to work, which in turn made them vulnerable to depression.
"The health of the farmer is critical. If they can't work, they get depressed," said Cheryl Beseler, a researcher at Colorado State University, who was not involved in this study.
She said the study was otherwise very well done in terms of collecting information about the farmers' past pesticide use.
The results do not apply to the average gardener, although Weisskopf said it will be valuable to better understand herbicides' safety in farming and non-farming settings.
"It's very important given their widespread use around the home," he said.
Beseler agreed.
"I think people tend to not take (the risks of pesticides) seriously when they're gardeners," she told Reuters Health.
Weisskopf said one explanation for his finding that insecticides and other pesticides were not tied to depression is that farmers might be aware of their potential hazards and they take greater precautions to avoid being exposed.
Another possibility is that the chemicals simply don't cause depression.
He said that more research is needed to determine the safety of herbicides, and meanwhile it would be wise for farmers and gardeners to be just as diligent about protecting themselves as they are with other chemicals.
"If (herbicides) are considered in general safer and people take less precautions because people think they're not as bad, then that poses a problem," he told Reuters Health.
"This still has to be considered a relatively first, small study. There's more work to do, but it raises concerns that need to be looked into more fully," Weisskopf said.

Who Said Obama Care Was A True Benefit In the First Place?

From the "National Review Online"
Obamacare Call Center Will Not Offer Healthcare Benefits to Employees

In order to ensure Americans understand how to access the benefits available to them when many provisions of the Affordable Care Act go online October 1, the Obama administration announced last month that it is setting up a call center that will be accessible to Americans 24 hours a day.
One branch of that call center will be located in California’s Contra Costa County, where, reportedly, 7,000 people applied for the 204 jobs. According to the Contra Costa Times, however, “about half the jobs are part-time, with no health benefits — a stinging disappointment to workers and local politicians who believed the positions would be full-time.” The county supervisor, Karen Mitchoff, called the hiring process “a comedy of errors” and said she “never dreamed [the jobs] would be part-time.”
The Times indicates that a job posting advertised all of the jobs as full-time, and one call center employee, who said no reason for the apparent change was provided, told the paper, ”It reminded me of that George Clooney movie where he goes around the country firing people (‘Up in the Air’). The woman said, ‘I know you were led to believe you would be full-time, but things have changed…You are actually ‘part-time intermittent.’”
The Contra Costa employees are currently in training, and the call center — one of three based in California — is set to go live on October 1.

Now That's Entertainment! Obama Hires Workers to Promote Obamacare, but Hires them PART TIME so they don't have to provide Obamacare......
People are so blind....I don't know what to say!!

YOU GOT WHAT YOUR UNION DUES PAID FOR NOW SHUT THE FU*K UP!

Why Should the South Die With Obama's North?
